FAQ

The most common questions we get from Calgary homeowners and acreage owners. Don't see yours? Just call or send us a message.

Pricing & Quotes

It depends on length, material, height, and access. A standard 6-ft cedar privacy fence runs roughly $40–$70 per linear foot installed. Vinyl is higher up front but maintenance-free for life. We give you a real number after a free site visit — we don't ballpark over the phone because the numbers are usually wrong.

Yes, always. We come out, measure, talk through the options, and send a written quote within 48 hours. No pressure, no obligation.

Yes — 50% deposit to confirm the schedule and order materials. The balance is due on completion. We accept e-transfer, cheque, and credit card.

Installation & Timing

Yes. We build through Alberta winters with the right equipment. Frozen ground is doable, but extreme cold or deep snow can push the schedule. Spring and summer have the longest lead times — book early.

An average residential build takes 1–4 days. Acreage runs and gates can take longer. We give you a realistic timeline before you sign anything.

We recommend booking 3–7 days in advance to lock in your install date. Spring and summer fill up faster, so the earlier you book, the more flexibility we have.

Permits & Property

Calgary requires a development permit for fences over 1.85 m on a residential property line. We pull permits when needed and handle the paperwork. Acreages and rural areas have different rules — we'll let you know during the quote.

Yes, and we handle it. Alberta One-Call is mandatory before any post hole digging. We submit the locate request and wait for clearance before we start.

If you share a property line, we recommend a quick conversation with your neighbor. We can build right on the line, slightly inside, or replace a shared fence — whatever works for both parties.

Materials & Maintenance

Cedar looks better, smells great, and resists rot naturally. Pressure-treated is cheaper and lasts a long time when properly sealed. Both are great choices for Calgary — we'll help you decide based on your budget and look.

We recommend a quality semi-transparent stain within the first year and re-coating every 3–5 years. It dramatically extends the fence's life and keeps it looking great.

Yes — workmanship warranty on every install. Material warranties depend on the product (some vinyl is warranted for life). We'll spell it all out in your quote.

Areas & Services

Calgary, Airdrie, Cochrane, Okotoks, Chestermere, Strathmore, Langdon, Bragg Creek, Springbank, Foothills County, Rocky View County. If you're nearby and not listed, just ask.

Yes. Removal and disposal of the old fence is usually included in the quote. Some materials (like concrete-set posts) can add cost — we tell you up front.

Both. We do post replacements, board replacements, gate rebuilds, and full tear-downs. If it's a fence and it needs work, give us a call.

No pressure. No surprises.
